Altered Carbon, the American Web television series, recently released for a second season.
The series, created by Laeta Kalogridis, premiered for the first time on Netflix on 2 February 2018. It was renewed for a second season on 27 July 2018 and the second season of the show will be released on 27 February 2020.
The show is based on a novel of the same name, as borrows much of it’s it’s from there.
The show revolves around a story that takes place 360 years into the future, where the memory of human beings can be stored and retrieved wherever and whenever necessary, from a disk, which can be implanted in their vertebrae. Only the rich and the privileged only have the means to live for a longer period of time since hey can access the disks and store their memories and their existence on these disks.
The show also provided insights into what the future of humanity will look like.
The title of the show “Altered Carbon”, refers to a human body, which has been altered since altered refers to modified and carbon refers to the body.
The show stars Joel Kinnaman, Renee Elise Goldsberry as Quellcrist Falconer, Martha
Higareda as Kristin Ortega, Dichen Lachman as Reileen Kawahara, Chris Conner as Poe.
The show received mostly positive reviews in the first season, where critics praised it for its storyline and visuals, apart form great direction.
In the second season of the show, the show seems to explore new storylines and include new characters as well.
The show has been one of Netflix’s successful shows so far. At its debut, it recorded a good viewership. Therefore, Netflix decided that another season of Altered Carbon must be made.
The second season of the show has been long-awaited by the fans. It is most definitely going to be an exciting watch.
