The 51-year-old actor has revealed what he believes to be his ultimate failure. The Gemini Man actor recently appeared in the upcoming episode of Facebook Watch’s ‘Red Table Talk’ hosted by his wife Jada Pinkett Smith. In a preview from the episode, which aired on 21st June, Will Smith said that he considers the divorce from his first wife Sheree Zampino (née Fletcher) to be his biggest loss.
In the Father’s day special episode, the husband and wife also delved into the issue of fatherhood and discussed how someone may not be the ‘best husband’ but still be a ‘good father’. A clip from a video recorded by Zampino was also shown at the preview. In the clip, we see Will Smith kissing his toddler and exclaiming ‘I love you’. ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ admitted that the divorce was one of the most difficult times in his life and the separation from his two-year-old son’s mother hurt him deeply.
Will Smith tied the knot with his first wife Sheree Zampino in 1992. A year later, the couple welcomed their son, Trey. But the marriage didn’t last long. The host of ‘Red Table Talk’ was actually one of the reasons behind their separation as Will Smith got romantically involved with Jada in 1994, while still being married to Zampino. In 1995, Will Smith and Sheree Zampino got officially divorced and two years later, in 1997, the ‘Bad Boys for Life’ actor got married to Jada Pinkett Smith in a secret wedding ceremony. Together, they have a son Jaden, 21, and a daughter Willow, 19.
Despite the initial bitterness of the divorce, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith maintain a cordial relationship with Sheree Zampino, with Sheree even appearing in an episode of ‘Red Table Talk’ with Jada. Trey, Will’s firstborn son, also has a good relationship with his father and stepmother.
