Netflix’s fantasy drama Overlord is yet another anime that topped charts on the streaming platform. It is transcreated from a light novel series penned by Kugane Maruyama. The novel series was a sensation in Japan. This led the creators to animate a whole web series out of it. And, it would be right to say that the anime adaptation also turned out really well.
The anime is produced by Madhouse and directed by Naoyuki Itou. It comes with a dark twist to the story. Thus, the anime captivated the audience with its release. With three seasons to binge, the otakus are craving for Overlord Season 4.
The first season aired way back in 2015 with 15 episodes. Overlord Season 2 and Season 3 released in January 2018 and July 2018. Its been almost two years, but there is no information about Overlord season 4. The series has not been renewed. But let us not get our hopes down. As the creators have hinted that they believe Overlord needs a new season.
However, after observing the pattern, we found there is a two years gap between the first and second season. So, hopefully, we will get Overlord Season 4 in the next 2-3 years.
Now the question arises that if Overlord Season 4 were to happen, who all will be joining it. The characters bring out all the action-oriented details. Being an action and drama oriented anime, it relies heavily on the characters. There is no news about the updates of the cast. But, rumor has it, we might get some new faces.
As for now, we know the main cast will be returning to the Overlord Season 4 including Satoshi Hino (Momonga) and Yumi Hara (Albedo). In addition, Manami Numakura as Shalltear Bloodfallen, Masayuki Katou as Narberal Gamma, and Sumire Uesaka as Demi Urge, will also reprise their roles.
The anime follows the story of a young miserable man who gets stuck in a game. In the growing age of technology, a game becomes obsolete and is ultimately shut down. All the players got logged out of their accounts except one, Momonga. He remained logged in as the Warrior king. Now he tries to conquer this virtual world.
The previous three seasons covered the stories up to 9 volumes. Possibly Overlord Season 4 will pick up from the next volume of the light novel series. It might cover the 10 to 12th volume of the novel. The anime is filled with challenges, difficulties, and confrontations.
Near the end of the last season, we observed Ainz was facing some internal conflicts. With so many new responsibilities to bear, he was facing some difficulties as a ruler. So, the narrative will probably continue from the end of Season 3. It has been heard that Ainz will be projected in a negative light. So he might end up being the main antagonist in the next season.
With nearly negligible information about the new season, asking for a trailer seems a far cry. Till now, the production house has not released any trailer for Overlord Season 4. So it looks like fans have to wait for quite a long time to get a sneak peek.
