Disney movies are something we all grew up with! Among those, we have the movie Little Mermaid. The movie was originally released in 1989 by Walt Disney. After that, the movie was adapted into many platforms like video games, animated movies, TV Series, and much more. Similarly, we have the movie coming up as a live-action remake. As of 2018, Rob Marshall will be directing the remake. The movie will be produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Marc Platt. Let’s know more about the movie further.
The upcoming remake of the movie was scheduled to start in April 2020. But due to the ongoing pandemic Coronavirus, the production of the movie has currently been paused. Because of the delay in production, we can expect the movie to be released a bit later. We can expect the production to resume by November, and hopefully, the movie will be released by mid-2021 or so. As of now, there is no trailer or teaser released relating to The Little Mermaid.
Initially, there was confusion on who to select as Ursula, Scuttle, and Flounder. But by July 2019, it was decided that Halle Bailey will be playing the role of Ariel. Javier Bardem will be in the role of King Triton, Daveed Diggs, as Sebastian and Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric.
The story revolves around a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel. She lives along with her father, Triton, who is also the ruler of the Atlantic. She is amused by humans and sets out to the land to collect human artifacts. But, Ursula, who is a sea witch, is jealous of Ariel’s beautiful voice and decides to make it her own. She takes advantage of Ariel when she understands that she has fallen in love with a human, Prince Eric. Further, we will see how the story continues in search of love.
