Production Details and Release Date: Avatar 2
Director James Cameron revealed in an interview in 2006 that if the first film was successful enough, there would be two more installments in the franchise. The movie turned out to be the highest-grossing movie of all time and was only recently unthroned by ‘Avengers: Endgame.’
The production for the sequel and supposedly the further installment of the franchise have already started in New Zealand. New Zealand is one of the few countries in the world that have officially been declared as ‘COVID-free’ countries. SO the cast and crew can resume the shoot without any problems. Health precaution, will, however, be taken.
After plenty of production delays and postponing the release date of the sequel, the date has been finalized somewhere in December 2021. The wait is long, but it will be worth it! Director James Cameron plans to release three more sequels to the movie and want to do it in consecutive years. That is the plan; for now, unexpected delays cannot possibly be predicted.
Storyline: Avatar 2
The first movie saw humans exploring the vast expanse of space for an alternate source of energy for a depleted Earth. They come upon the mythical planet of Polyphemus orbited by densely forested moon Pandora. Pandora is rich in unobtanium, a mineral which could solve the energy crisis of earth. They employ humans and genetically match them into the bodies of local tribes called the Na’vi. The job of these human- Na’ vi hybrids was to convince the localities to allow mining operations.
The local tribe disagrees, a war ensues, and loyalties are tested. Humans are the antagonists in this equation. They destroy a considerable portion of the tribal natural habitat. Eventually, all the local tribes unite, and with a little help from the human- Na’ vi hybrids, the tribes win the war and shun humans from their planet.
