“Jurassic World: Dominion”: Dinosaurs need freedom? Will their freedom lead to human’s containment zone?

Jurassic World: the Fallen Kingdom was not as well-received as Jurassic World when it released in 2015. However, it made enormous success at the box office with $1.3 billion worldwide gross, which confirmed a new sequel for the fans. The news of the renewal of Jurassic World: Dominion was announced in February 2020.

Now that the shooting is underway for the much-awaited movie, we are here to fill you in with all the updates.

Jurassic World: Dominion: Release Date

The movie will hit the theatres on June 11, 2021, by Universal Pictures.  The production was reportedly paused when social distancing restrictions were set in place in March 2020. The filming will begin in July 2020. For now, there is no news of the postponement of the release date.

Jurassic World: Dominion: Cast

Several of the actors will be returning for the franchise: Chris Pratt as Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing will reprise their respective roles. From the Fallen Kingdom, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith, BD Wong will continue their roles.

There are new additions to the cast: The Get Down’s Mamoudou Athie, She’s Gotta Have its DeWanda, Altered Carbon’s Dichen Lachman, and Venom’s Scott Haze. We have no further information about their roles in the movie yet.

Jake Johnson could return skipping the Fallen Kingdom to Dominion to play his role as Lowery.

At a Jurassic World screening in September 2019, the director, Colin Trevorrow announced the casting of actors Laura Dern and Sam Neill in the film.

Jurassic World: Dominion: Plot

If you had any doubts about what Dominion actually means, Chris Pratt has it out for you. He captioned one of the pictures on Instagram that the title refers to “man’s attempt to establish dominion over nature.” We don’t know much about the plot specifics. But we do know that it will be a science thriller like other Jurassic Park installments.

Trevorrow released a short film after the Fallen Kingdom launched titled Battle at Big Rock that starred Andre Holland. The film explores how a world would be with dinosaurs free to roam about.

We can safely say that the movie won’t be a Dino Vs. Humans war movie. The director himself confirmed it. With the giants on the roads, we sure as hell know that something exciting is in store for the dino fans. Will they be free? Will they be put in cages? Who’s to say!

The movie is likely to focus on Owen and Claire taking care of the granddaughter of Jurassic Park creator John Hammond, Maisie. The ending of Fallen Kingdom revealed that she was in fact a clone. We are only to wait to know what twist it leads the movie too.

Jurassic World: Dominion: Trailer

We won’t see the trailer until December 2020 only when there is some progress on the production. Look forward to that.
