Everyone loves a good scare now and then, and with Haunting of Hill House, that’s exactly what you’ll get. Mike Flanagan created the series for Netflix. Also, it is loosely adapted from Shirley Jackson’s novel of the same name. Premiering on 12th October 2018, the show has released one season containing ten episodes to date.
The supernatural horror series became a massive success upon release. Haunting of Hill House has received critical acclaim as well as widespread popularity among fans. The show’s use of a horror atmosphere, a strong set of characters, and the storyline were praised as well.

Fans had been waiting for a good horror series for a long time. And Haunting of Hill House was all that they wanted. So, it’s no wonder that fans were vocal with their demand for a second season. Due to its immense success, Netflix renewed the series in February 2019. In addition, we can now say that season 2 will be named, Haunting of Bly Manor. Showrunner Mike Flanagan has announced that filming of season 2 has wrapped up. Furthermore, the post-production work is currently undergoing. Right now, the upcoming season is set to premiere sometime this year.
Haunting of Hill House Season 2: Possible cast
About the cast of the next season, we know for sure that many actors from the previous season will be back. The cast will feature:
- Victoria Pedretti as the Governess
- Oliver Jackson Cohen as Peter
They are also be joined by returning cast, Kate Siegel; Henry Thomas; Catherine Parker. Though, which characters they’re playing is currently unknown. Moreover, Amelia Smith and Benjamin Ainsworth are portraying the children residing with the Governess. Of course, other new faces will be seen in the second season.
Haunting of Hill House Season 2: Expected plot
Like season one, the next season will also be based on an iconic horror novel. This time, Henry James’ novel ‘The Turn of The Screw’ will serve as the backbone of the second series. Moreover, other stories of the famous author will also be used in the second season.
The second season will center around the Bly Manor. In this huge manor, GovernessGoverness lives and takes care of two children. Slowly, she starts to see things and starts to question her own sanity and paranoia settles in her psyche.
Haunting of Hill House Season 2: Storyline
The first season of the horror series followed the Crane family as they move into the Hill House. There, they’re tormented by spirits who keep haunting them even after they move out. But, the series has now taken an anthological approach and will feature different stories and characters in the upcoming seasons.
Haunting of Hill House Season 2: Other details
Mike Flanagan, who directed all the episodes of season one, won’t helm the same role in season 2. The showrunner himself stated that he would be collaborating with new directors such as Ciarán Foy, Liam Gavin, Yolanda Ramke, among others. Furthermore, reports suggest that the new season will be scarier than anything fans have seen yet.
