Storyline: “Mr. Robot Season 5”
The show revolves around Elliot Alderson, who is constantly struggling with social anxiety, a dissociative disorder of identity, and clinical depression all influenced by paranoia and delusion. He works with cybersecurity company Allsafe as a cybersecurity engineer by hacking them connects to people. His life changed entirely when a mysterious insurrectionary anarchist named Mr. Robot recruits him to join his squad of hacktivists known as the Society.
This was the longest season in the series’ history. We saw how it made links with all the show’s characters. This also addressed how to change the new structure. We saw how previously the characters who had never met one another came together and sat to talk to each other.
In the beginning, we suspected Elliot was personally struggling with both social anxiety and depression. We heard him speaking about the deep-rooted problems he had, and his therapist. It was seen, because of his father, that he faced these issues. When he was a boy his father molested him. We saw Elliot and Darlene returning to each other, too. They shared a bond and, over time, it only deepened. The characters were eventually pulled away from the main storyline. The emphasis on their character development was changed. They all received their completions. There were several scenes just talking between two characters and it gave some sort of insight about how they were different from each other.
Season four was all we needed to bring the series to an end. Though it was clear after all we saw that this series had ended for good and there was no getting back from there.
