Trebek is a Canadian-American TV sensation. He had been the host of many game shows like The Wizard of Oz, High Rollers, Battlestars; the longest he has hosted are on the sets of Jeopardy! since the year 1984. Trebek will be hosting the show once again since the show will begin taping in a few days. The actor says, “I’m good at faking it. Suck[ing] it up,” says the host, before revealing the powerful benefit taping has for him. “I suddenly wake up and I’m able to perform and handle the show.” Why? “Because I like it. It’s a good job!”
Ever since they found cancer in his body, he has become quite vocal about pancreatic cancer and its symptoms. For a couple of weeks, before he got the news, he had been experiencing stomachaches. In an interview with Lisa LaFlamme, CTV’s Chief Anchor, he said that he was “not afraid of dying.” Per the research, pancreatic cancer holds the record of the highest mortality rate of all cancers. 91 % of patients die within five years of diagnosis.
Trebek shared the update in a Youtube video last week. He opened up about his dealing with cancer and chemotherapy, which he believes will kill him if not cancer. Alex is worried about his wife.
In an interview with Good Morning America, he talked about the impact his cancer has had on his wife. “There was one day a few weeks ago when Jeanie asked me, ‘How do you feel?’ and I said, ‘I feel like I want to die.’ It was that bad.” He got emotional during the interview, “She’s a saint,” he continued, “She has so much goodness in her that she is always giving out to help me overcome difficult moments. I’m just in awe…”
He and his wife Jean have been married for thirty years.

Alex is very optimistic, as are the doctors. He wants to continue hosting the show as long as he can; he says that he will be around two years from now to host the show. The two-year survival rate of pancreatic cancer stage 4 is 7 %. However, he and his doctor are positive that they will celebrate another anniversary next year too.
