Ever since the release of the first season, Killing Eve has been acing hearts all over the world. The show received a renewal far ahead of its premiere for a fourth season. The Golden Globe and Emmy nominated dark comedy series will most likely hit the screens in April 2021, in keeping with its history of releases. Here is everything you need to know about Killing Eve Season 4!
Killing Eve Season 4: Release Date
The show premiered on BBC on April 8, 2018, with a second season soon following on April 7, 2019. Both the seasons were exceptionally good and received critical acclaim for its scripts and performances. The third season released on April 12,2020. If history has anything to tell us, then, Season 4 of Killing Eve will air in the month of April next year.
The show received its renewal for another season in January 2020. It’s only a year until we finally get to relive the obsession between Villanelle and Eve.
Killing Eve Season 4: Cast
Expect the same characters to return in Season 4, except for the ones who died in the previous season. Sandra Oh (from Grey’s Anatomy) and Jodie Comer will reprise their roles for which they won multiple Best Actress awards as Eve and Villanelle, respectively.
Other returning actors include Fiona Shaw, Kim Bodnia, Owen McDonnell, Darren Boyd and Swan Delaney.
Killing Eve Season 4: Plot
Fans will probably, most definitely, see Eve and Villanelle fall together in a relationship after a much obsessing drama that the other seasons went through. Season 3 ended with Carolyn killing her MI6 boss (who turned out to be a member of The Twelve, that hires assassins to kill people of power), and Eve and Villanelle deciding to be together. Their relationship is likely to take much of the screen-time in Season 4. Villanelle has had a change of heart and does not want to stay in the killing business. What would that mean for their relationship, considering that that is what brought them close together? Will they part ways? Will they get their happy ending? Season 4 will also explore more about The Twelve and how they came about.
Each season has a female writer that leads to the formation of the story. After Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emerald Fennell, Suzanne Heathcote – in-charge of the first three seasons – Laura Neal is taking the lead for Season 4. Heathcote said that the writers will “take it somewhere new, which involves taking risks” in the new season.
Killing Eve: Storyline
The story follows Eve Polastri, a bored MI5 security officer, who is not content with her seemingly boring job. Her spying instincts lead her to assess the psychologies of the assassins and their methods. After she gets fired from her job, she is recruited by MI6 in order to catch Villanelle. Villanelle is an international assassin who is exceptionally good at her unconventional job. Subsequently, they get obsessed with each other, playing a game of cat and mouse. Both women, then, desperately try to learn more about each other, alongside going under various missions.
