Shameless will be returning for a final run at an undisclosed date, Greg Levine has confirmed. The American comedy-drama holds the title of the longest-running show (in Showtime) there ever was. It debuted on January 9, 2011, on Showtime, taking fans by their collar. The show has been appreciated widely for its unconventional take on family and life in general. Here is everything you need to know about Shameless Season 11.
Shameless Season 11: Release Date
The last season premiered on November 10, 2019; in January the following year, a new and final season was announced. If circumstances had been different, we would have seen the last of it by now. However, as fate or 2020 would have it, we need to wait for a little for the previous season to release. We predict an early 2021 release.

We were supposed to start production on our 11th and final season today, but unfortunately/ fortunately, we have been shut down indefinitely until this health crisis is over. ❤️ 💔 so here’s a lil throwback . Missin my Gallagher’s 🥺❤️ (also ayeee binge is this quarantine 🤷♀️ season 1-9 on Netflix!) stay safe and isolated everyone!
Shameless Season 11: Cast
The show consists of an ensemble cast, with a few characters making appearances throughout the season. Some of the cast members who will be returning for the eleventh and final season are:
William H. Macy will be playing the role of Frank Gallagher, with Ethan Cutkosky, Emma Kenney, Cameron Monaghan playing the roles of Carl Gallagher, Debbie Gallagher, and Ian Gallagher respectively. Shanola Hampton will return as Veronica “V” Fisher and Steve Howey as Kevin Ball.
There is a chance that Emmy Rossum might come back to play her loving character, Fiona.
Shameless Season 11: Plot
The final season will have to tidy the things a little bit and close the loose knots. At the end of Season 10, Ian and Mickey married each other. However, the latter’s father did not take it well, who is as homophobic as it gets. Terry, the father, had attempted to sabotage their wedding on numerous occasions. Now that they are married and would want to start a family, Season 11 may deal with them, giving a piece of their mind to Terry. The show may bring a happy ending for Lip and Tami. Since they had struggled quite a bit, we hope that it does. Things are not as hopeful for our Debbie, who, towards the end, found out that she had had sexual relations with a minor; the police have a warrant against her. Season 11 promises a whole lot more drama.
The show is an American adaptation of the original British series by the same name, developed by John Wells. Set in the Southside of Chicago, the story follows a dysfunctional, low-income family: an alcoholic father single-handedly raising (this is a bit of a stretch) six children. While the father amuses himself by getting drunk and falling into misadventures, one of the children, Fiona, takes care of her sibling’s Lip, Ian, Debbie, Carl, and Liam. The show goes on to explore their lives with each dealing with their struggles. All’s well that ends well; We hope Season 11 will put things into perspective and for the Gallaghers, bring some peace into their lives.
