The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, filled with action and dragons, and is a must-have video game! Bethesda Game Studios is the developer, while Bethesda Softworks is the publisher of the video game. Skyrim is the fifth part of The Elder Scrolls franchise and followed The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. The game released on November 11, 2011, and is available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Skyrim developed using the Creation Engine, which was rebuilt explicitly for the game. In the first week of release, sold over 7 million copies, and by November 2016, sold up to 30 million copies. The new record made it one of the bestselling video games in history.

Apart from the original content, three more downloadable content add ons, were available in 2013, which include: Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn. The add ons, received a repackaging into   —into The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Legendary Edition. Furthermore, a remastered version, Special edition, was also available by October 2016. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition is available for is a Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It consists of the three DLC expansions along with an upgrade in graphics. Moreover, it includes features with mods on consoles as well.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim- Gameplay

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is playable via a first-person or third-person perspective. The character of the player can roam freely over the region of Skyrim. The game world is an open-world environment, which includes wilderness, caves, dungeons, towns, and villages. The players can travel through horses, pay for a ride, or utilize a fast travel system, making their journey quick.  The primary mission of the game, can either be finished or ignored, as per the player, after completing the first stage quest. But, some tasks require to be partially completed, to carry on with the storyline.

In Skyrim, like the previous games in the series, killing Non-playable characters can make some missions or item unattainable.  As in the past, The Elder Scrolls games, killing certain NPCs can make some quests or items unobtainable.

With the Skyrim: Special Edition, the mod features available made it one of the easiest games to mod!  Most of the mods for Skyrim are available on the Steam workshop or Skyrim Nexus. Each mod requires different guidelines and processes for installation. So it’s essential to follow the steps provided by the creator. All you need to do is add to the Skyrim ‘Data’ file. Which you will find at:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\Common\Skyrim\Data

It’s not a recommendation to install a copy of Skyrim to program files. Move your steam directory from the mods to work. It might sound a bit difficult, but as long as you follow the instructions, it’s easy peasy! However, you need to back up your data folder, before modding, if you ever need the original Skyrim content.

Ultimate Skyrim

This mod includes the content of 16 other mods. They come along in one package of the Ultimate Skyrim, giving a hardcore video game experience ever. Ultimate Skyrim, focuses on role-playing, along with hunger and temperature mechanics. Moreover, it also consists of an overhauled combat system.  The mega mod also comes with an Automation feature, which automatically installs other mod packs.

Skyrim Script Extender

For other mods and their smooth-running, it’s essential to download Skyrim Script Extender. The mod allows scripting capabilities of the video game for more complicated compounds.

Unofficial Skyrim Patch

The Unofficial Skyrim Patch fixes all the bugs from the original video game. It is an essential update mod, which fixes bugs from Gameplay, NPC, quests, objects, placements, etc.

Relighting Skyrim reprograms the lightening sources of the video game entirely. It fixes light from illogical sources, like the beam of the door!

2K Textures

2K Textures gives a high-quality resolution up to 4K. This mod is eight times the resolution provided in the basic vanilla Skyrim, and four times of that of the official HD patch. The mod offers newer textures in the world of Skyrim, including the skies and the floors. The system requires 4GB RAM and 1GB video memory to give an astonishing effect. For less powerful systems, a ‘lite’ version is also available.

SkyUI

Although Skyrim is available for PC, it is not as suitable to be playable on a computer. The user interface is more appropriate to be playable via a controller. SkyUI mod completely rebuilds the HUD and the user interface. It enables a keyboard and mouse-friendly game.

Sounds of Skyrim

Sounds of Skyrim consists of three packages, all in one! The mod gives 450 new sounds, creating a more realistic game in the Skyrim world. Furthermore, it removes the unnatural silence from in between the game and adds birdsongs, wind, and the hustle and bustle of a busy human life. It also includes cave sounds, echoes, and other sounds. The sounds change depending on the time during the day and also consists of nocturnal animals and children shrieks.
