The news left all the fans disheartened. The show is based on a book series of the name Anne of Green Gables, written by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Directed by Moira Walley-Beckett, the series completed 27 episodes in January and fans are very eager for season 4.
The series is based on coming of age, the story which revolves around an orphan who seeks love, social acceptance, and a place in the world as well as she spent most of her life in various orphanages and had an abusive childhood. Later, she was mistakenly sent to Prince Edward Island to live with other siblings. Not only she is creative and intelligent, but she also changes the lives of other siblings and people in the small town.
The show was set in the 19th century, and the story also revolves around the current social and political issues and also highlights issues such as feminism, racism, education, sexual harassment,lgbtq+rights, beauty standards, etc.

No official date has been announced about the revival of the show. Season 1 aired in March 2017, season 2 aired in July 2018, and season 3 in November 2019.
