Get ready for some exciting news! With its three seasons having done fairly well and receiving critical acclaim, Handmaids Tale has been renewed for another season. This dystopian-tragedy is based on a 1985 novel with the same title, written by Margaret Atwood. During the second American’s civil war, the totalitarian society forces the Handmaids, the fertile ones into childbearing slavery. The show has been nominated for many awards, winning quite a few.
When is The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4 set to release?
The series was first premiered on 26th April 2017. It was well-received by the audience and was much appreciated. Soon after, the makers planned a second season for the show. The productions began soon after. The second season was released on 25th April 2018. With the show receiving lukewarm responses for the second season, it then got renewed for a third season. The season was premiered on 5th June 2019. In the same month, the fourth season of the show was scheduled. Till now, no date has been finalized of release. The production has been put to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic. It seems we have to wait longer to hear any news related to the release. With the previous seasons having 13 episodes, the upcoming season may have the same.
Who all will be returning for the fourth season of “The Handmaid’s Tale”?
The main character of the show, Elisabeth Moss will be returning back as June. The whole story is portrayed through June. The other characters from the previous season who may be a part of the upcoming season include- Joseph Fiennes (Commander Fredrick), Yvonne Strahovski (Serena Joy Waterford), Alexis Bledel (Dr. Emily), Madeline Brewer (Janine), Ann Dowd (Aunt Lydia), Max Minghella (Commander Nick), Samira Wiley (Moira Strand). The other recurring members may also be a part of the season. Till now, the cast for the season has not been fixed. With reproduction at a halt, all we can do is wait!
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 4: The story so far and what will happen next?
Based on the book with the same name, the story of the series was slightly beyond the books. With the release of “The Testaments” by Margaret Atwood, it is expected that the upcoming season may be derived from it. As per the reports, a large portion of the story will be taken from the new book. The testaments contain the testimonies of Aunt Lydia, Agatha, and Daisy.
