The renowned film actor and narrator Morgan Freeman was born on June 1, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee, U.S. Morgan won the Academy Award for the Best Supporting Actor in the year 2005 for the movie “MILLION DOLLAR BABY” and has received multiple Oscar nominations for his acting.
Morgan’s first acting debut was made at the age of nine, in his school play. At the age of twelve, he won Statewide Drama Competition also while still being in school; he performed at a radio show in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduation, he turned down the drama scholarship and served in Air Force as an Automatic Tracking Radar Repairman, rising to the rank of Airman 1st Class.
After serving four years in military service, he moved to California, where he took acting and dancing lessons while working as a clerk.
At the beginning of his career, he worked as a dancer. He also worked as an actor for a touring company and worked as an extra in the movie “The Pawnbroker” in the year 1965.
His first credited film was “WHO SAYS I CAN’T RIDE A RAINBOW!” premiered in the year 1971, but his fame started to rise at the time he got noticed by American media for his performance in a soap opera “ANOTHER WORLD.”
Morgan also worked as a narrator due to his marvelous voice.
When Freeman heard about the extinction of bees, he turned his 124-acre ranch into a sanctuary for bees. He is also a licensed pilot.
