IS THE PUNISHER BEING RENEWED FOR SEASON 3?

Unfortunately no. The Punisher will not have a comeback on Netflix with a third season. It is regrettably so as the creators seemed to have a whole story planned for another 12-13 episodes. They were thrilled at the success of the first two seasons and still hope to release

Jon Bernthal as “The Punisher”

season 3 on a different platform. As the popularity of the first season had led to the second, they believe the cycle might continue. The cast is supposed to be the same as Jon Berthnal playing The Punisher. The news has shocked and disheartened fans but the creator’s statements still give them a reason to suspect a third season. The specifics of dates and times is completely unknown at the moment, but given the show’s popularity, we can expect a third season.

END OF MARVEL/ NETFLIX RELATIONSHIP?

On February 18th, 2019, it was declared that Marvel’s The Punisher has been officially canceled. With shows like Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage already getting cut off, the relationship between Netflix and Marvel is officially over. With a rising sense of competition from Disney’s new streaming service, this might be a crucial blow to the audience of Netflix.

WILL THE SHOW CONTINUE ELSEWHERE?

The idea for continuing the third season was actually a decision made by Netflix and not Marvel. But it stands to reason as to why Marvel wouldn’t agree since Marvel is now officially under Disney, which is releasing a streaming channel of their own, Disney+. So it would make more sense for The Punisher if it does indeed get renewed to be streamed on Disney+ instead. In fact, a lot of fan favorites are soon to be discontinued on Netflix. But it is certain that Netflix will keep streaming the first two seasons of The Punisher.
