Here’s a piece of good news for all the fans out there. ‘The Boys’ has been renewed for a second season and this has been officially announced by Amazon even before the season one was streamed. Season one was a great success and was positively reviewed.
The head of Amazon Studios, Jennifer Salke said, “We are thrilled that The Boys have surpassed our predictions for viewing in its first two weeks, and has become one of our most-watched Amazon Original series by our Prime Video customers. This creates great momentum and excitement for us as we get ready for season two”.
The trailer for The Boys was seen in early December. The filming for the season started in summer 2019 in Toronto. It was later removed by Amazon Prime. But finally, it was released and can be streamed online.
Most of the cast from season 2 will return. The cast that will be back in season 2 will be Karl Urban ( Billy Butcher), Jack Quaid (Hughie), Erin Moriarty (Starlight) and Chace Crawford (The Deep). Some new characters will also be seen at this time. Aya Cash is confirmed to be a new addition to the show. Kripke will also join the cast. He confirmed this on his Twitter handle. His role is not yet known. He posted a selfie-and tweeted, “Thank You @pattonswalt, that was AMAZING! #TheBoysTV #Season2 #SecretRole.”
Any official release date has not been announced yet, but it is already confirmed from the sources that the show has been renewed for another season. Regarding the release date of the show, Karl Urban shared on social media that the filming of the show has already been wrapped up and the release date can be made official soon.
